The dye sublimation process uses sublimation dye to print computer graphics onto high-quality ink jet paper. This "sublimation transfer" and a special coated item are then placed into a heat press. The solid molecules in the ink turn into a gas and penetrate the pores of the substrate's coating. When the substrate is removed from the heat press, the temperature drops, the pores close and the gas reverts back to a solid state.The result is an incredibly vibrant sub-surface transfer that will not scratch off or wash out.
